چکیده

In voltage clamp experiments, ionic flow is measured as electrical current. Macroscopic currents recorded from whole cells, or from relatively large areas of cell membrane, represent the sum of the ion fluxes through many channels, generally of more than one type. The first step in the interpretation of such currents is usually their separation into constituent components, each associated with a particular sort of ion channel. This chapter will consider some of the means by which this separation may be achieved, and will also give an introduction to methods for the analysis of the currents isolated in this way.

Numerical and Empirical Investigation of Flow Separation Phenomenon around Semi-buried Pipelines due to Steady Currents

In this paper, in order to understand the flow-pipe interaction more clearly, the variations on flow pattern around semi-buried pipelines due to steady current have physically and numerically been investigated. In physical modeling section, the experiments have been carried out in a flume with 10 meter length, 0.3 meter width and 0.5 meter depth using a P.V.C pipe with 6.35 cm in diameter (for ...

Design and Control of a Novel hybrid Active Power Filter based on Load Harmonic Currents Separation with the aim of DC-link voltage minimization in voltage source converter

This paper proposes a new hybrid active power filter, including voltage source converter (VSC) based active power filter and Thyristor Controllable LC Passive Filter (TCLC-HAPF) for eliminating harmonic load current components and compensating reactive power. This new structure which is based on the separation of high and low-frequency components of load current idea can reduce the drawbacks of...

Classical eddy current losses in Soft Magnetic Composites

1 a Corresponding author: [email protected] 2 This paper deals with the problem of loss evaluation in Soft Magnetic Composites (SMC), focusing 2 on the classical loss component. It is known that eddy currents can flow in these granular materials at 3 two different scales, that of the single particle (microscopic eddy currents) and that of the specimen 4 cross-section (macroscopic edd...

Adsorption of Methylene Blue from Aqueous Solutions by Silk Cocoon ‎

This study concerns the performance of cocoons spun by silk worms as a natural ‎adsorbent for removal of Methylene Blue (MB) from aqueous solutions. To study the adsorption ‎process, the effect of various parameters such as contact time, adsorbent dosage, dye initial ‎concentration, and pH of the solution were investigated. According to the experiments, the kinetic ‎data were best described by ...

Single-channel basis for conductance increase induced by isoflurane in Shaker H4 IR K(+) channels.

Volatile anesthetics modulate the function of various K(+) channels. We previously reported that isoflurane induces an increase in macroscopic currents and a slowing down of current deactivation of Shaker H4 IR K(+) channels. To understand the single-channel basis of these effects, we performed nonstationary noise analysis of macroscopic currents and analysis of single channels in patches from ...
